This is a 4'x4' diptych. It's currently on display at Sontes restaurant in Rochester, Minnesota. It is acrylic and sumi ink on composite board.

oh my god! ink is one of my favorite mediums, and this is amazing! making it a diptych was a really great choice. how long did this take you?

That's gorgeous. I like the idea of using the ink over acrylic.

The painting went along quite quickly until the *dun dun dun...* blossoms. The whole thing took me about three months, but I really plodded along on painting each one of those little plum blossoms (five dots, branches, groupings, move on..).

There are two birds in the composition, meant to draw the sides together. Two little wrens (like the ones who nested next to the tree IRL. :) ) The other one is up in the tree, on the left of the image.

this is amazing, i commend u even more for working with sumi ink, i HATE that stuff lol i think its too thin and runny for me but you truly did an extraordinary job with it. kudos

Like they're not drawn in the same style of the tree.
But that's just me- still beautiful!
